Bajada Terms of Service

Version 1.0 - Effective 19 May 2026

1. About Bajada

Bajada is a service for joining padel leagues and padel communities, operated by Bajada Padel Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17199949 (view our Companies House record). These Terms govern your use of the Bajada iOS app and website (collectively, the "Service").

2. The Service in this version

In the current version Bajada provides:

  • League participation - flex-format leagues organised by ELO division. You sign up for a season; you schedule and play your own matches against other players in your division.
  • Communities - per-club spaces for posts, comments and announcements.
  • Match scheduling and score reporting within leagues you have joined.
  • Profile, ELO rating and leaderboards within your city and division.

Bajada does not, in this version, take payment for court hire, route payments to clubs, host tournaments, or operate a paid coaching marketplace. If we add those services in the future, we will update these Terms and notify you in line with clause 12.

3. Account and eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Bajada. By signing up, you confirm you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials (Sign in with Apple, Sign in with Google) secure and for activity on your account.

4. League entry fees

Some leagues are free to enter; some leagues charge a per-season entry fee. When a league charges a fee, the fee is shown clearly before you confirm payment. The fee is paid to Bajada Padel Limited, processed by Stripe Payments UK Ltd.

Your right to cancel a paid league entry

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have a 14-day right to cancel a paid league entry and receive a full refund, unless:

  • The league has already started before the 14 days expire and you have explicitly consented to the service starting immediately when you paid (the in-app confirmation screen shows this consent before you tap "Pay").
  • You have played one or more matches in the league. In that case the entry is treated as a service already performed, in line with Reg. 36.

To exercise your cancellation right, email [email protected] from the address associated with your account, with the league name and the date you joined. We will confirm receipt within 24 hours and process the refund to the original payment method within 14 days.

Refunds outside the cancellation period

Outside the 14-day cancellation period, league entry fees are non-refundable as a default. Where you can show exceptional personal circumstances (such as a serious injury preventing you from completing the season), we will consider a goodwill refund. Goodwill is at Bajada's discretion and is not a refund right you can rely on under these Terms; it does not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

If we cancel a league

If Bajada cancels a league for any reason (insufficient sign-ups, operational issue, force majeure), we will refund any paid entry fees in full to the original payment method within 14 days of the cancellation.

5. League rules and conduct

  • You agree to play the matches you accept. If you cannot make a match you have accepted, you must let your opponent and the organiser know as early as practical.
  • You must report match scores honestly. Where there is a dispute about a score, either player can flag it; we will review and resolve it. Knowingly reporting a false score is a material breach of these Terms.
  • Dispute review: when we receive a score or conduct dispute we will look at the evidence in the app (chat log, score reports, organiser notes) and, where useful, ask either party for further information. We will explain our decision in writing. If you disagree with our decision you may appeal in writing to [email protected] within 14 days; we will review the appeal and respond within a further 14 days.
  • Your rating, division, and recent match record are visible to other players in the same league. Your home city is visible on leaderboards.
  • Venue radius: some leagues restrict the venues at which matches can be played (for example, "leagues in London" requires matches to occur at a club within a set radius of central London). The radius is shown on each league's page. You can join from anywhere; matches must be played within the radius.

6. Communities

Communities are spaces for posts and comments tied to a club or league. When you post in a community:

  • You retain ownership of the content. You grant Bajada a non-exclusive licence to display the content within the Service for the duration of your account.
  • You must comply with our Community Guidelines.
  • You can edit or delete your own posts. Bajada may remove content that breaches the Community Guidelines, after reasonable investigation, and will tell you when we do.

7. Acceptable use

You will not:

  • Use Bajada for any unlawful purpose, or to harass, threaten or abuse other users.
  • Misrepresent your identity, rating or match results.
  • Attempt to extract data from Bajada in bulk (scraping, automated requests).
  • Reverse-engineer or decompile the app, except to the extent permitted by law.

If we believe you have breached this clause or the Community Guidelines, we will investigate. Where the breach is material, we may suspend or terminate your account after telling you the reason. You may appeal in writing within 14 days as described in clause 5.

8. User content moderation

Bajada moderates user content under the Online Safety Act 2023. Reports submitted via the in-app "Report" surfaces are reviewed within the following timeframes:

  • Threats of violence, content depicting child sexual abuse, and other priority illegal content: as soon as practical and within 24 hours.
  • Harassment, hate speech, and other priority content: within 7 days.
  • Other reports: within 14 days.

We will tell the reporter the outcome of the review and will tell the reported user the outcome if action is taken against their account.

9. Service availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Bajada is provided to you with reasonable care and skill in accordance with section 49 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Where the Service falls short of that standard, your statutory remedies (repeat performance, price reduction, refund) apply.

10. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
  • your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (including sections 49 to 57);
  • any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under English law.

Subject to the above, Bajada's aggregate liability under these Terms for any claim is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you have paid Bajada in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) £100. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, except where this exclusion would be unfair under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

11. Termination

You can delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms (clause 7 process applies) or for legitimate operational reasons (with at least 14 days' notice unless prohibited by law). If we terminate, we will refund any unused paid league entries pro rata.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. For material changes we will notify you in the app and by email at least 14 days before the new version takes effect. If you do not accept the changes you can delete your account before the effective date and we will refund any unused paid league entries pro rata. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by English law. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. This does not affect your right to bring proceedings in the country where you live, where the consumer-protection rules of that country require it.
