Bajada Community Guidelines
The short version
Bajada works because players treat each other fairly. Show up, play hard, report honestly, be respectful. The detailed rules below are there to keep the community friendly for everyone, not to catch you out.
1. Show up
If you accept a match, play it. If you can't, give your opponent at least 24 hours' notice. Repeated no-shows or late cancellations affect everyone in your division and may result in suspension from leagues.
2. Report scores honestly
The winner reports the score; the loser confirms within 48 hours. Disputed scores are frozen until reviewed. Falsifying scores is grounds for immediate account termination. ELO is meaningful only when the data going in is honest.
3. Respect on and off the court
Treat other players with the courtesy you'd want yourself. We do not tolerate:
- Harassment or threats
- Discriminatory language (race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, etc.)
- Sexual content or unwanted advances
- Doxxing - sharing personal information about another player without consent
- Stalking - persistent unwanted contact
4. Pictures and identity
Your profile photo should be of you. Photos of other people, copyrighted images, or anything that could be misleading are not allowed. We reserve the right to remove photos at our discretion.
5. League entries
- If a league has an entry fee, pay it through the in-app flow before the registration close date.
- Don't dispute Stripe charges that you actually authorised. If something has gone wrong, email us first so we can fix it.
- League entry fee refunds are governed by the Terms of Service and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (14-day cancellation right).
6. Reporting abuse
If you experience or witness behaviour that violates these guidelines, report it via the in-app Report button or email [email protected]. We take reports seriously and will respond within the following timeframes (Online Safety Act 2023 priority categories):
- Within 24 hours: threats of violence, content depicting child sexual abuse, other priority illegal content.
- Within 7 days: harassment, stalking, hate speech, doxxing.
- Within 14 days: other violations.
7. Sanctions and appeals
After reasonable investigation, depending on severity, we may:
- Issue a warning.
- Remove offending content.
- Suspend your league participation.
- Suspend your account temporarily.
- Terminate your account permanently.
- Report to law enforcement where the activity is illegal.
You may appeal any decision by emailing [email protected] within 14 days of the decision. We will review the appeal and respond within a further 14 days.
8. Match conduct (real-world)
Bajada doesn't supervise matches in person. We expect you to:
- Follow the host club's rules and code of conduct
- Bring your own equipment unless the club provides it
- Settle line calls fairly; if in doubt, replay the point
- Be on time
9. Changes
We may update these guidelines. Material changes will be notified in the app.
